The main objective of our research group is to improve the healthcare provided to children and adolescents in the Paediatric Emergency Department: Emergency Pathology in childhood and adolescence.These are the main lines of research:
Infectious pathology
Objective: Identify patients with potential severe bacterial infection

- Observational studies with registry of patients (breastfeeding infant below 3 months of age, bacterial isolation in blood and Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)).
- Prospective cohort studies in order to evaluate the efficiency of diagnostics tests or changes in the management of these patients.
- Epidemiological studies of the prevalence of invasive bacterial disease.
Respiratory pathology
Objective: Reduction of morbidity of acute respiratory pathology, asthma, bronchiolitis and laryngitis.
